Meet Baxter the Beagle!
This handsome boy was found as a stray and taken into a rural Mississippi shelter, where he and three other Beagles were in need of rescue. Luckily, we had room—and Baxter has been stealing hearts ever since!
Baxter is about 2 years old, weighs 30 pounds, and is fully vaccinated, microchipped, and dewormed. Like many dogs from Mississippi, he did test positive for heartworms, but he has already completed treatment like a champ and is now ready for his forever family.
Baxter is a classic Beagle—he loves nothing more than spending time outside with his nose to the ground, sniffing to his heart’s content. Because of this, he’ll need a fenced yard to safely enjoy his adventures.
Dog-friendly: He has lots of canine pals in his foster home, but he’d also be perfectly happy as the only dog soaking up all the attention.
Kid-friendly: He lives with young children and does wonderfully with them.
Cat-friendly: He does great with cats, too!
House-trained: No accidents in his foster home.
Kennel preference: Baxter isn’t a fan of being kenneled long-term, but he’s a gentleman at mealtime—he happily eats in his kennel since he can’t resist trying to “taste-test” his doggie friends’ food (much to their dismay!).
Baxter truly is the best boy—sweet, loyal, and ready to be someone’s adventure buddy and cuddle partner. He’s currently in Memphis, TN, waiting to meet his forever family.
