Meet Ziva!
Ziva is a beautiful tri-color Pembroke Corgi who just turned 2 years old on November 29, so she’s still very young. She currently weighs about 21 pounds and is a bit underweight, but she’s settling in nicely and continuing to thrive in her foster home.
Ziva came to rescue from a breeder-release situation and is adjusting well to true “family life.” She has a gentle, shy personality and loves to be loved. While she’s a bit skittish around larger dogs and hasn’t been around cats yet, she’s doing well in her foster environment and gaining confidence each day. She would do well with older children, little ones may be a bit much for her.
She is fully vaccinated, heartworm-negative, microchipped, current on heartworm and flea prevention, has been wormed, and is scheduled to be spayed soon. Ziva eats and sleeps in her kennel and truly seems to enjoy it. She’s also learning to walk on a leash—and she’s doing great!
Ziva is loving the fenced yard at her foster home, soaking up all the smells and enjoying her freedom, so a home with a fenced yard is a must. She may do well as an only dog if her humans aren’t gone for long hours. Otherwise, she would benefit from having a calm, established dog companion to help her feel secure when her people are away—after all, she’s never been alone in her short life.
Corgis are known for being happy little clowns, and we’re hopeful that as Ziva continues to feel safe and loved, that playful side will shine through.
