Meet Dolly!
This sweet girl was found as a stray in north Memphis with large mammary tumors. Once her stray hold was up at MAS, she was transferred to our care and immediately underwent surgery to remove the tumors at Bluff City Veterinary Specialists. She was also spayed during the procedure. Unfortunately, her biopsy results confirmed mammary cancer. She is currently undergoing chemotherapy to prevent the cancer from spreading.
Once her chemotherapy is complete, Dolly will begin treatment for heartworms and have a dental cleaning procedure before she is ready to find her forever home. Despite everything she has going on, you would never know she was sick. Dolly is happy, energetic, and full of life, and we are very optimistic about her future. Her tail never stops wagging!
Dolly is an incredibly sweet girl who brings smiles to everyone she meets. She loves people, gets along wonderfully with other dogs, enjoys snuggling and sunbathing, and has plenty of that classic Beagle personality fans of the breed know and love. She is curious, mischievous, and always keeping her foster family laughing. She is 8 years young, and although she has an adorable sweet “sugar face,” she has plenty of energy and a wonderful zest for life.
Dolly came into our care on August 25, the same day the world lost Dolly Parton, so it felt like the perfect name for this special Tennessee girl.
We are committed to giving this sweet girl every opportunity to live the happy, healthy life she deserves! Follow along for Dolly's incredible healing journey!
