Tails of Hope Dog Rescue proudly adopts to loving families both in the Memphis area and beyond. For out-of-area adoptions, we require that a Tails of Hope Dog Rescue volunteer is available to assist with transport and complete the following essential steps:
A transport fee, based on mileage from Memphis, will apply.
There is also a non-refundable $20.00 application fee, which helps offset the cost of processing applications and ensures we’re working with committed adopters.

Browse our ADOPTABLE DOGS to find the right match and review the ADOPTION REQUIREMENTS to ensure you can provide the home we're looking for. Then, complete the ADOPTION APPLICATION.
Tails of Hope Dog Rescue will review your application within 5-7 days and conduct the required veterinarian and personal reference checks. A Tails of Hope Dog Rescue volunteer will contact you if we have any questions or need clarity.
A Tails of Hope Dog Rescue volunteer will contact you by phone to confirm the details of your application and discuss the dog(s) you are interested in to ensure it's a good match.
Once your phone interview is complete, Tails of Hope Dog Rescue will contact you via email to schedule a home visit. At the home visit, we will conduct a fence check (if applicable), introduce the Tails of Hope Dog Rescue dog(s) to any pets and children in the home, and go over the dog's medical records. If all goes well, we will complete the adoption contract, and your new dog(s) will be yours. All household members must be present during the home visit. This includes all pets.
Our standard adoption fee is $200. For adopters living outside the Memphis, TN area, a transport fee may also apply based on distance.
