Let's Talk About Steve the French Bulldog!
Meet Steve! This handsome guy is about 4 years old and quite the character! Right now, Steve tips the scales at around 40 pounds, which is about 10–15 pounds more than he should weigh. But don't blame Steve—he wasn't in charge of his menu before coming to rescue! Thanks to his wonderful foster family, he's now on a healthier, portion-controlled diet and exercise plan, and he's already on his way to becoming a leaner, happier, healthier boy.
Steve is:
Great with other dogs
Wonderful with children
Fine with cats, as long as they're comfortable with dogs
He is fully vaccinated, neutered, microchipped, heartworm negative, wormed, and current on heartworm and flea/tick prevention.
Now, let's talk about the one thing Steve isn't a fan of... the kennel! He will let you know exactly how he feels about it! However, he's perfectly content relaxing behind a baby gate and is slowly learning that a kennel isn't such a bad place after all. We kennel train all of our dogs because it provides a safe place for them to eat, sleep, and stay when home alone until we have fully evaluated their behavior and house manners.
As with all of our French and English Bulldogs, previous ownership of this breed (or a similar brachycephalic breed such as an English Bulldog) is required. This requirement is verified through veterinary records. We often receive these amazing dogs with significant medical issues, and after investing so much time, care, and resources into restoring their health, we want to ensure they continue receiving the specialized care they need in an experienced home.
Steve is currently in Memphis and will be available for adoption once he reaches a healthier weight. The good news? We are accepting applications now! By the time he's ready, we hope to already have the perfect forever family waiting for him.
