Meet Beanie!
This sweet girl was found abandoned near a commercial dumpster, weighing just 24 pounds and suffering from a painful hip injury. A kind passerby spotted her and alerted a nearby vet clinic, and that’s how she came into our rescue’s care.
Despite every effort to save her injured leg, the damage was too severe—her paw had lost all feeling due to nerve damage, and her hip fracture left her in chronic pain. Once Beanie gained enough weight, amputation became the best option. And what a transformation it’s been! She’s now a happy, thriving tripod who runs like the wind, rolls joyfully in the grass, and plays with her canine friends.
Beanie is spayed, fully vaccinated, microchipped, heartworm negative, and on both heartworm and flea prevention. She’s housebroken, kennel trained, and an excellent leash walker. She adores people of all ages—she lived with children (ages 3 and 9) in foster care and was wonderfully gentle and loving with them. She is great with cats! Her foster home has cats, and kittens, and she gently plays with them! Want a car riding buddy? She loves it!
The only quirk Beanie has is with food: while she’ll happily allow a person to take food right from her mouth, she does guard her meals from other dogs—likely a result of her past starvation. Because of this, and because she truly thrives on human companionship, Beanie would do best as an only pet. Honestly, she’ll be more than enough love for one family!
At a healthy 33 pounds, Beanie’s slim figure suits her perfectly as a rear tripod. She may have been discarded like trash, but she’s proven to be an absolute jewel—and now she’s ready to shine in her forever home.
Beanie is in Memphis.
