Meet Crosby!
This sweet and gentle boy survived a horrific puppy mill. He looks to be a poodle, possibly Poodle/Bichon mix. He is estimated to be about 2 years old, weighs just 12 pounds, has been fully vaccinated, tested negative for heartworms, and is neutered. He is microchipped and current on heartworm & flea/tick prevention.
He absolutely needs another established dog in the home, because as with all mill survivors, another dog is their security, guidance, and comfort zone.
Crosby is the best lap baby once he warms up to you and you will absolutely adore him just as his foster parents do! He has come such a long way in his recovery. He does need a very securely fenced yard, and he is learning to leash walk.
Mill dogs need to adjust to things that are new to them that "regular" dogs are used to, such as the feel of grass instead of box wire, eating out of a bowl versus the ground, sleeping on a bed, and not dirt. So he will need a lot of love and patience as he gets acclimated in his forever home.
We suggest a home without small children as their quick, sudden actions will scare him. Older children would be fine. He seems to have no interest in cats and should do fine in a home with them.
Mill babies are some of the most loving dogs out there, it takes a special person with patience, lots of love, and understanding to bring them out of their shells and develop that strong love connection. Could that be you?
Crosby is currently hanging out in one of our Memphis-area foster homes accepting applications for his forever family.
