Meet this sweetheart, Ester. She weighs just 23 pounds and is only about 3 years old.
Ester was hit by one car, and as she tried to cross the road, she was struck by a second before running into a ravine. Thankfully, some kind-hearted people found her and rushed her to a shelter for help.
She suffered multiple pelvic fractures, including a right comminuted ilial fracture along with fractures to her pubic and ischial bones. On Monday, March 23, Ester underwent orthopedic surgery. Plates and pins were placed to stabilize her ilial fractures—the weight-bearing bones—while the remaining fractures will heal with strict confinement and care.
Her medical costs have totaled just over $6,000, covering surgery, X-rays, follow-up care, and medications. She was broken—but fixable.
Donations are still desperately needed. Please consider giving if you can, and share her story. No amount is too small. Thank you for helping give Ester the second chance she truly deserves.
