Meet sweet Mini Aussie Julie!
This little doll came to us after her owner passed away, and we were so happy we were able to help her. Julie is about 5 years old and, yes, she came to us a tad on the chunky side! She has been on a healthy weight-loss plan and is doing fantastic. She still has a few more pounds to go to reach her ideal weight ( 25 pounds) , but she is well on her “weigh”! As of September 10th, she weighed in at 33 pounds.
Julie has been spayed, is current on vaccines, tested heartworm negative, is microchipped, and is current on heartworm and flea prevention. She also recently had a dental cleaning and only needed one tooth removed—a cracked tooth way in the back.
Now, let’s talk about what a sweetheart this girl is!
Julie is great with other dogs, but we also think she would be perfectly happy as an only dog where she can soak up all the attention. She has been around children and cats and has done wonderfully.
She is not a high-energy girl, so she doesn’t need a huge yard to be happy. A smaller fenced yard where she can safely wander around, get some exercise, and enjoy the sunshine would suit her just fine.
Julie does leash walk and is still learning to become more confident. Traffic, lots of people, or unfamiliar activity can sometimes make her a little nervous, but we are SO proud of how far she has come! She is also a good car rider, sleeps in her kennel at night—and actually loves her kennel—and she is a pretty quiet girl who isn’t much of a barker.
And then there is possibly the BEST thing about Julie: her absolutely adorable “Shakira shake”! When this girl gets happy, those hips do not lie! Her entire back end gets involved, and it is impossible not to smile.
Because she is an Aussie, Julie will require regular grooming, and thankfully she is a very good girl for the groomer.
Julie is currently in a Memphis-area foster home and is ready to find the family who will love her for the wonderful little girl she is.
