Meet Keats!
Keats is a beautiful Blenheim (red and white) King Charles Cavalier who recently joined our rescue as a breeder release. He is approximately 4 years old, weighs 19 pounds, and is a very sweet boy who is just beginning his journey into companion life.
Keats is fully vaccinated, has been wormed, is microchipped, and is currently on heartworm and flea prevention. He has tested negative for heartworms (which we are thrilled about!) and will be neutered soon.
As a breeder release, Keats needs time to decompress in his foster home and adjust to life as a loved family member rather than a puppy maker. During this time, he will be evaluated to determine the best possible home fit for his needs.
Once he has completed all of his medical care, he will be moved to our list of available dogs. We kindly ask that potential adopters wait until that time to submit an application so we can ensure the best match for both Keats and his future family.
Based on this dog’s past experiences, we are looking for a home that already has another dog. Dogs coming from a breeder-release situation often do much better with a canine friend, as this is what feels most familiar and comforting to them. Having another dog in the home helps them feel safe and confident, and gives them a wonderful role model for learning how to be a dog and a companion—something very different from their life as a breeder dog.
Thank you for your patience and for supporting rescue dogs like Keats!
