I'm ready for my new family!

Hi! My Name Is Keats

I'm Available

Meet Keats!

Keats is a beautiful  Blenheim (red and white)  King Charles Cavalier who recently joined our rescue as a breeder release. He is approximately 4 years old, weighs 20.4  pounds, and is a very sweet boy who is just beginning his journey into companion life.

Keats is fully vaccinated, has been wormed, is microchipped, and is currently on heartworm and flea prevention. He has tested negative for heartworms (which we are thrilled about!) and is neutered.

As a breeder release, Keats needed time to decompress in his foster home and adjust to life as a loved family member rather than a puppy maker. During that  time he was  evaluated to determine the best possible home fit for his needs.

Based on this dog’s past experiences, we are looking for a home that already has another dog. Dogs coming from a breeder-release situation often do much better with a canine friend, as this is what feels most familiar and comforting to them. Having another dog in the home helps them feel safe and confident, and gives them a wonderful role model for learning how to be a dog and a companion—something very different from their life as a breeder dog.

Keats is currently in a foster home with two males dogs and is great, and of course would be fine with female dogs as well.

Keats is still on the shy side but has made incredible progress. The two main ingredients he needs to reach his full awesome dog potential is  patience and understanding. Of course toss in tons of hugs and love!

A home with a securely fenced yard is a must, and though Keats is improving on leash training he is still a work in progress. Please remember  everything is new to these sweet mill dogs, wearing a collar, eating out of a dog bowl, sleeping INSIDE a home, etc. It's a new world to them.

Thank you for your patience and for supporting rescue dogs like Keats!
