Meet Maddie!
Just when you think you've seen everything in rescue, along comes Maddie.
This sweet girl was apparently dragged behind a car, resulting in all four of her paws being degloved. A kind soul found her and rushed her to an emergency veterinarian, and that's where we stepped in. Thanks to our amazing rescue village, we were able to get Maddie transferred to our veterinary team and settled into a loving foster home to begin her recovery.
Maddie's wounds require daily bandage changes and skin cleanings. Because of the extent of her injuries, these procedures are done under sedation to keep her comfortable and pain-free. As if that wasn't enough, Maddie is also heartworm positive.
Yet through it all, her tail never stops wagging.
Dogs truly are resilient and amazing creatures. Despite everything she has endured, Maddie remains sweet, loving, and eager for affection.
Maddie is approximately 3 years old and weighs about 60 pounds. She has been vaccinated, microchipped, and will be spayed when she is medically ready. Right now, the number one priority is helping her paws heal—and thankfully, she is making great progress.
Maddie is a wonderful dog who deserves a family of her own when the time is right. After everything she has been through, we can't wait to see her get the happy ending she deserves.
