Meet Wolfgang!
This handsome German Shepherd pup was found abandoned at a worksite, where he had been wandering for over a week before a kind man brought him to safety. He had no collar or microchip, and despite efforts to find an owner, no one came forward—so he joined our rescue.
Wolfgang is about 4 months old. He has been wormed, started on his vaccine schedule, and is now microchipped. His neuter will be scheduled soon. Based on his current size he will be a big boy, estimated adult weight at 70-80 pounds.
As a German Shepherd, Wolfgang will thrive in a home with an experienced GSD owner. This breed is intelligent, loyal, and protective, but can be headstrong and needs structure, training, and plenty of mental and physical activity. He’ll require 1–2 hours of daily exercise, whether that’s long walks, running, or games like fetch.
German Shepherds also have a double coat, so Wolfgang will need weekly brushing and more frequent grooming during shedding seasons. True to the breed, you can expect him to be loyal and watchful—gentle with his family, though a bit reserved around strangers.
At this young age, Wolfgang will benefit greatly from a home with a fenced yard and ideally another confident dog to help show him the ropes. Continued socialization will be key to ensuring he grows into a well-adjusted adult. Without it, puppies like him may develop challenges such as boredom, destructive habits, separation anxiety, or difficulty sharing space and resources.
With the right guidance, Wolfgang is set to become a well-mannered, deeply bonded companion who will happily join in on all your family adventures.
Wolfgang is currently in a foster home in the Memphis area and is looking for his forever family!
Adoption/Foster-to-Adopt Information
Wolfgang is not yet available for adoption until after his neuter is completed. However, he can be placed in a foster-to-adopt home within the Memphis area with an approved application.
Once Wolfgang is fully vetted, we do adopt out of the area—but foster-to-adopt is only available locally due to our veterinary care being based in Memphis.
